On Saturday, 4th June 2011, I had the privilege of tying the knot for Jodie and Matthew at Perth Zoo in South Perth, Western Australia.  Perth Zoo is a unique and fun place for a wedding ceremony!

Jodie and Matthew chose to marry in the rustic Homestead Barn, located in the heart of the zoo.  They were joined by four terrific groomsmen and four gorgeous bridesmaids!

I thoroughly enjoyed this wedding ceremony and was really happy with the zoo’s wedding co-ordinator’s help and terrific personality (thank you Alison, you’re a champion!).

I had the privilege of officiating at David and Libby’s wedding, held in the Perth Town Hall (corner Hay and Barrack Streets, Perth).

The Perth Town Hall is the only convict-built capital city town hall in Australia, located at the highest point of the city.  It’s a great example of Victorian Free Gothic style architecture and a popular venue for weddings, exhibitions, book launches etc.

Kidogo Art Institute in Fremantle

Renee and Ross chose the unique and very different Kidogo Art Institute on Bathers Beach in Fremantle as the venue for their wedding and reception.

With a colourful Aboriginal art exhibition as a backdrop, the scent of native flora in the room and the sound of waves in the background, the venue provided a magical ambience for this wedding.

During the signing of the Marriage Register, we were treated to two terrific duets sung by Ross’ very talented sisters.

I felt truly priviliged to marry Renee and Ross and enjoyed meeting their welcoming and outgoing family and friends.

A beautiful autumn day at Matilda Bay Reserve in Crawley

On a warm, but rather windy autumn day, James and Mindy exchanged their vows in a beautifully decorated marquee on Matilda Bay Reserve (adjacent to the wonderful Matilday Bay Restaurant and Bar www.matbay.com.au ).

Close friends and excited family members witnessed the beautiful bride walk down the red carpet, escorted by her father.   James and Mindy paid tribute to their parents by taking part in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.  It demonstrated the bride and groom’s respect and love for their parents.

It was an emotional moment when James and Mindy exchanged their personal vows which they composed themselves.  I felt priviliged to witness such beautiful promises being exchanged.

All the best James and Mindy!  Don’t ever lose that great sense of humour and positive outlook .

Ben and Connie arrived in best man’s Gary’s beautiful old Chrysler (see below).  They walked down the aisle to ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ and were greeted by a welcoming applause.

It was a simple yet touching ceremony which included the bride and groom exchanging very unique wedding vows.

The newlyweds and their lovely guests enjoyed delectable celebratory drinks provided by Broad’s at Upper Reach Winery , which also hosted their reception.

The beautiful Peel Manor House in Karnup

Erin and Scott chose the tranquil and picturesque Peel Manor House in Kardup/Baldivis www.peelmanorhouse.com.au for their wedding, which had an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme.

Family had made the long journey from Texas, USA to our Peel Region in order to celebrate Erin and Scott’s special day.

Erin was escorted by her mother and step father to the song ‘You raise me up’ which was a very touching moment for everyone present.  Erin’s grandmother read a passage from the Bible and gave the couple her blessing.

Erin and Scott also included the ancient tradition of handfasting before exchanging vows.  This added a unique touch to their wedding ceremony.
